We loved the hotel's location right in the heart of things. It was in the center of town, close to absolutely everything. The hotel facilities were excellent, and the cleanliness was top-notch. Additionally, the staff was friendly and accommodating.
Nothing could have been better.

It was a perfect location, right in the heart of the old town. The atmosphere was lovely, very old-fashioned and rustic. The room had everything we needed and was quite spacious. We really enjoyed our experience there, and Rothenburg is a beautiful place to explore.
Breakfast was quite basic for the price.

We used to stay at this hotel back when we lived in Munich, and it hasn't lost any of its charm since then. They even had a portrait of their beautiful white dog from back in the day up on the wall (sniff). The key aspect is location, dead-center in town on Siedlmeyer Strasse and directly across from the Kriminal Museum. We arrived at the train station oustide of town and a 6 minute/8 Euro taxi ride had us at the front door. Some lovely decor inside, especially the restaurant/bar, and the rooms are nice too. We caught a late evening thunderstorm and drank Franken wine while watching it underneath the restaurant's outdoor umbrellas. Fun!!
It's a bit surprising breakfast is not included in a hotel of this class. Also, bathrooms are really tiny, but that's really nothing too surprising for this part of Europe

I had a memorable Easter break at this charming hotel. The antique decor added to the historic atmosphere of the place. The location was perfect with many places of interest within walking distance. The cafe next door was a delightful spot to watch the world go by while savoring the delicious local cuisine. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating, which made our stay a comfortable one.
The hotel lacked a modern touch, which I feel would have made our stay even more enjoyable. the room service could have been improved with more attention to detail in cleaning and maintaining our room.

It was convenient as far as location went and was charming for the area.
The hotel web site made no mention that the roads around the hotel were under construction which made it difficult to get to the hotel. Parking was not convenient to find, (Need to have a small handout to get to parking) The guests should be informed that the elevator does not work in the morning for early departure. A royal pain hauling suitcases down three floors of winding staircases at 5 am.

We have always been received in a friendly (like family) manner. This was our 4th or 5th stay in this hotel and each time has been fantastic. We highly recommend the Roter Hahn to other travelers. Good food, excellent breakfast, and above all a warm welcome!!!!!!

This hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of the Old Town, right off the main square. You'll love being close to absolutely everything, including the Christmas Market and great shopping. the rooms are clean and the service is friendly. Plus, they offer a delicious continental breakfast for a reasonable price. Don't miss out on the Night Watchman tour, it's worth your time.
The decor may be a bit dated but that just adds to the charm of the hotel.

location
This is 2 star quality hotel with limited service and amenities. Noisy from next door can be heard and bathroom is really tiny. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Other than that, this is an old worn down 2 star hotel.

The best thing was the location - only two blocks from the Markt. It was also both old but with modern amenities.

Great location, close to Christmas Market & Shopping. Hotel within city walls. Free parking. Good breakfast options.
There was nothing I didn't like.

Location inside the walls of the city. Hotel staff was friendly and spoke english.
Found a cockroach in the bathroom and slept with the lights on. Other than that...it was good! The building is old--so it was kinda expected.

This hotel was the perfect base for our city break. the breakfast was amazing, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious food. the location couldn't have been better, right in the heart of the beautiful old town, with everything within walking distance. We loved exploring the narrow streets and discovering the historic sites.
That the room was quite small and basic in terms of amenities. this did not detract from the overall experience of the hotel, and we spent most of our time exploring the stunning town anyway.

It was a reasonable price for a centrally located small hotel in Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

Christmas Market & Shopping were right around the corner. Hotel was located within city walls putting you right in the heart of things. This made it interesting when trying to find it but once we did no problem. Parking was free but about 2-3 min walk from the hotel. Breakfast for 8€ included rolls, cold cuts and cheese, juice, coffee, cereal, milk, fruit cocktail, boiled eggs.
